Page Strength Metric for Web Sites

Web site metrics are a great way to find out how well your web site is doing. There are many types of metrics that measure all sorts of things on the web. Google uses their “PageRank” metric to indicate the relevance of a site in relation to keyword searches.

Now there is another similar ranking metric designed by the guys at SEOmoz called “Page Strength”. This metric gives you some idea of how valuable, important, and popular a site or page is as compared to others sites and pages on the web. SEOmoz have developed  a free tool that will measure the relative importance and visibility of a web site or web page.

The tool is not meant to used as a single authoritative measure about a site or page but gives market researchers another perspetive to consider when analysing web sites.

For example, I have used it to compare the page strength of my own site at regular weekly intervals as it is a quick and easy way to track the impact of my efforts to raise the profile of my web site.

Best of all, this tool is free to use and another useful tool to for analysing your own web site and that of your competitors.
