It is a very useful tool for search engine optimization and Google Adwords campiagns. You simple enter a keyword and the tool pulls back the number of monthly searches, the number of sites competing for the keyword, and the number of competiting Adwords. Most of data results comes from Google because it is the largest search engine that draws the most website traffic.
